Airport runs, done properly.
The airport trip is the one we've run more than any other in 85 years. Here's what that experience actually buys you.
Three things that decide an airport trip
- The crossing, not the distance
- Massey Tunnel or Alex Fraser — the right answer changes by the hour, and it's usually worth more than any shortcut. Our dispatchers hear from drivers all day, so we tend to know which one is moving before the map apps catch up.
- Booking for arrival, not departure
- The most common mistake we see: people book the cab for when they'd like to leave instead of working backwards from the flight. YVR says be in the terminal three hours before an international or US departure, two for domestic; give dispatch the flight time and the drive is counted in. Worst case you drink a coffee at the gate.
- The price doesn't move
- No surge, no night rate, no holiday rate. A 4am departure on New Year's Day costs the same per kilometre as a Tuesday afternoon. That's the whole point of a metered, licensed cab.

It runs on the meter — $3.75 flag plus $2.18 per kilometre, GST included. From Surrey that's roughly 30–38 km depending on where you start and which crossing traffic allows. Call 604-581-1111 and dispatch will estimate your exact route before you commit.
YVR says be inside the terminal three hours before an international or US departure, two for domestic. Give dispatch the flight time and we work backwards from that, drive included. The Massey Tunnel and the Alex Fraser don't care about your boarding time. Reserve the evening before for anything early.
No. There is no surge, no night rate and no holiday rate. A 4am Christmas run costs the same per kilometre as a Tuesday afternoon.
Yes. Give dispatch your flight number and landing time when you book. Domestic arrivals: follow the car rental signs down to Level 1, the Airport Services Plaza, and go out Door 24. International arrivals: cross the road, turn left and look for Pillar 33. That's where the driver meets you. Anything on the day: 604-581-1111.
Standard vehicles comfortably take luggage for four passengers. If you're moving skis, bikes, or more than four large cases, tell dispatch when booking and we'll send the right vehicle.
Yes, both ways. We take you to YXX from anywhere in our area, and we pick up there too. Pickups from YXX are paid upfront unless you have a Yellow Express account, so call 604-581-1111 to book one. It's a longer trip, so book ahead.
