Our meter, in the open
No surge. Not once in 85 years.
Our rate is set by the province, printed right here, and identical at rush hour, last call and Christmas Eve. The meter doesn't know what a long weekend is.

These are the BC Passenger Transportation Board's published taxi rates for our licence area (Taxi Rates Rule 9); the meter in every cab is set to them. The Board's rule carries the effective date.
Working out your fare
$3.75 + ($2.18 × kilometres), GST already included.
That's the distance part. In slow traffic or when the cab waits, the meter runs on time instead, at$38.93 an hour, which is why the figures below are estimates and the meter is final.
What the common runs cost
| Route | Distance | Estimated fare |
|---|---|---|
| Surrey → YVR AirportThe run we're asked about most. Book the night before for anything before 7am. | 30–38 km | $69–$87 |
| White Rock → YVR AirportA long run — worth booking ahead, especially for morning flights. | 42–52 km | $95–$117 |
| Langley → YVR AirportDistance swings with which crossing is moving. Book ahead. | 45–58 km | $102–$130 |
| Delta → YVR AirportStraightforward via the tunnel, traffic permitting. | 18–30 km | $43–$69 |
| Delta → Tsawwassen Ferry TerminalSailings don't wait. Give dispatch your sailing time, not your leaving time. | 10–22 km | $26–$52 |
| Surrey → Downtown VancouverFaster than you'd think off-peak; we watch the bridges. | 30–42 km | $69–$95 |
| White Rock → Peace Arch CrossingShort hop. Call ahead on long-weekend mornings. | 4–9 km | $12–$23 |
Estimates only, calculated from our published metered rate ($3.75 flag + $2.18/km, GST included). The meter is always final — traffic, route and wait time move the total. Call dispatch for an estimate on your exact trip.
Get an estimate · 604-581-1111Why this matters
When demand spikes — a storm, a long weekend, closing time — app-based pricing rises with it. Ours can't. The rate is regulated, published and identical for everyone. The nurse finishing a double pays the same per kilometre as anyone else, at 3am, in the rain.
That's not a promotion. It's just how a licensed metered taxi works, and it's been that way here since 1941.
Questions about fares
No. Never have. We're a licensed, metered taxi company — our rates are set by the province and printed publicly. What the meter reads is what you pay, at any hour, on any day.
No. 2am on New Year's Eve costs the same per kilometre as a Tuesday afternoon.
Flag rate plus distance: $3.75 + ($2.18 × kilometres). GST is already included. For a route-specific estimate, call dispatch on 604-581-1111.
No. You can book hours or days ahead at no additional charge.
Card and cash. Please tell your driver which you're using at the start of the trip — drivers carry limited change.
Waiting is $38.93 an hour, charged in 9.25-second steps whenever the cab is stopped or crawling: waiting for you at the door, or sitting in traffic. That's the Board's tariff, which is why a slow run costs more than a clear one and why the meter, not an estimate, is final.
