Terms of service

Last updated October 2026

These terms apply to this website and to taxi services provided by Yellow Express, a licensed passenger-transportation provider operating in British Columbia, Canada.

Bookings

A booking is confirmed when our dispatcher accepts it by phone or WhatsApp, or when an online booking is accepted by dispatch. Bookings taken by Sam, our automated dispatcher, and by the online form are requests until dispatch accepts them; you will see "Booked" or "You're booked" only once it has. Sam can book a ride but cannot give fare quotes or guarantees, and anything she says about a ride is subject to dispatch confirming it. We aim to arrive at the time agreed, but arrival times are estimates — traffic, weather and demand affect them, and we do not guarantee a specific arrival time.

Advance bookings can be made hours or days ahead at no extra charge. To cancel or change a booking, call 604-581-1111 as early as possible; bookings made online or with Sam can only be changed by the office.

Fares

Fares are metered and charged at rates set under British Columbia's passenger transportation regulations. Current rates are shown on our rates page and include GST. We do not apply surge, peak, night or holiday pricing.

Because fares are metered and depend on the actual route travelled, any estimate we give in advance is an estimate only. The meter determines the final fare.

We accept card and cash. Drivers carry limited change.

Passengers and conduct

Cars carry up to four or five passengers depending on the vehicle; vans carry six and are booked on request. Seat belts must be worn as required by law. Drivers may refuse or end a trip where a passenger's behaviour is unsafe, unlawful, or abusive toward the driver.

If you have specific requirements — additional luggage, accessibility needs, or travelling with a pet — please tell dispatch when booking. Wheelchair-accessible vehicles and pets are arranged by the office and cannot be guaranteed without advance notice. We do not provide child seats; you are welcome to bring your own.

Lost property

If you leave something in a vehicle, call us as soon as possible on 604-581-1111 with your trip details. We will do our best to locate and return it, but we are not responsible for items left in a vehicle.

Website

We work to keep information on this site accurate and current, but it is provided for general information. Rates, service areas and availability may change. Nothing on this site forms a contract until a booking is accepted by our dispatcher.

Complaints

If something went wrong, tell us — it is the only way we can fix it. Call 604-581-1111 or email admin@yellowexpress.ca with the date, time and, if you have it, the vehicle number. Passenger-transportation complaints may also be directed to the Passenger Transportation Branch of the BC Ministry of Transportation and Transit.
